The Green Bean
The Green Bean remains today as a mainstay on Ocean Avenue... a true
cottage cottage! But many years ago, the neighborhood had a different
look and a different traffic pattern.
Then....
This photo is probably from the late 1920's or early 1930's.
At that time, the water tower at the top of the hill on Pearl Street stood
as a monument visible all over the beach. Also, this is not a driveway
where this photo was taken but a cross street heading over to Houghton
Street.
Now....
This photo was taken on February 19, 2004. Makes you wonder about
that pine tree growing up in the background in the earlier photo.
