Vesper Street Sea Wall 1950

Then....

The sea wall between Vesper and Champion Streets did not exist as the concrete structure that we have now nor did the cottages along the wall.   In this photo, Karen MacDonald Tanguay holds hands with Diane Pray (on the right).  Karen and brother David were true beach kids whose parents owned a cottage on Bayview.  David ultimately built on of the cottages on the sea wall at 5 Vesper Street.  But for our history lesson, it's not the kids but what's behind them that is perhaps more of interest.

The old red log cabin at 1 Shipwreck is just behind Diane's shoulder.  That cottage has been totally rebuilt as have most of the cottages going down Shipwreck.
