The Regan's Garden Page 1
We bought our home in 2003. There were no gardens or landscaping, other than the large rhododendron next to the garage. The gardens that you will see today are works in progress, changing at the whim of the gardener. In 2005, we added the landscaping, featuring the rocks along the driveway for drainage and around the house, anchoring it to the land. Later we created the small paths and walkways of pea stones to add points of interest and to give access to the forest. It is here that we have planted shade gardens, which thrive underneath the canopy of trees. In front of this garden, near the driveway, is a perennial bed in shades of pinks, purples and blues. It includes peonies (our first attempt), delphinium, echinacea, dianthus, veronica and achillea millefolium `Fire King'. Located in the long bed to the left of the deck, is a mix of shade plants, grasses and hardy perennials, with a cobblestone path and a sundial.
