The McDougall's Garden Page 1
McDougall's garden overlooks a lovely view of the ocean on one third of an acre. Started in 1990 with nine daylilies, the garden has evolved over the years with new beds dug and planted nearly every year. The sunny area is devoted to daylilies with other perennials and shrubs interspersed throughout. A Harry Lauder's walking stick competes with the daylilies in one area. A rustic arbor invites one to the shade garden where there is a profusion of hostas, perennials and shrubs. This garden was started about six years ago and is still evolving. At the side of the ivy covered garage are two large rhodys and a climbing hydrangea. This garden was given an honorable mention in the Press Herald paper during the 2005 garden contest.
