Boats and Rocks Don't Mix Page 1
More than a little excitement this Father's Day weekend when a small Grady White (one of the sturdiest boats made) lost power while fishing in between the rock ledges at the western side of the beach.
Passengers and crew got off the boat safely. The Scarborough rescue team arrived on the scene, but
without any power on the boat, there was little that anyone could do, and it became a gut wrenching
scene as the boat continued to hit against the rocks with the waves of the incoming tide.
A Scarborough rescue diver attempts to board the vessel.
A successful jump onto the vessel.
Rescue team members grab the anchor lines from the vessel, but without power on the boat, there is
little than can be done.
With the approaching tide, the vessel will ultimately have to pound its way over this ledge on the right
only to rest for the evening on the rocks below Cliff Street.
