This photo came from the history files of the Marcou family and was taken in the early 1940's. As we often say, it's not the people that interests us as much as what might show behind them. In this particular case it's the cottage at 2 Ocean Avenue on the corner of Bayview and Ocean with its great wrap-around porch. Also notice the dune structure coming off of Bayview and down onto the beach

The front porch area of 2 Ocean Avenue has been transformed into additional living space which is typical for many cottages since the 60's and 70's, and the Town has also transformed the dune wall into a rock wall.
